FAQ's for Lash Extensions

How are eyelash extensions applied?

When you first arrive at your appointment, your lash extension stylist will conduct a full eyelash consultation with you, walk you through the lash extension procedure and help you choose a length and style that best reflects the look you’re after. Each lash extension is applied with adhesive, one by one, to your natural Eyelashes for a truly natural and utterly flawless look.

How long does an eyelash extension appointment take?

For a full set, depending on the number of eyelash extensions to be applied and the skill level of the Extension stylist, your appointment will take from 60 to 120 minutes while you recline comfortably with your eyes closed.

Are eyelash extensions safe for my eyes?

Absolutely, yes! PuraBell Beauty products, Extensions, adhesives, and application procedure are all exclusively developed to the highest standards of safety, quality and performance. PuraBell Stylists are certified Eyelash Extension professionals who have successfully completed comprehensive training, and who hold the safety of your eyes as their number one priority.

How long do eyelash extensions last?

When properly cared for, you can extend the life of your Eyelash Extensions up to 4 weeks. As your natural Eyelashes shed, the Lash Extensions that are attached also shed with the natural growth cycle of your Eyelashes. We recommend Touch-Ups or Re-Lashes to fill in your Lash Extensions and maintain a beautiful, full set of Eyelashes indefinitely.

Every hair on our body follows a natural growth cycle. The hair on our head goes through shedding cycles, and so do our lashes. The lash cycle will continue even with eyelash extensions because they are applied to one individual eyelash. It is important to know exactly what the lash shedding cycle is, why it happens and how it affects lash extensions.

Each individual eyelash will reach a certain length, fall out, and then re-grow. When a natural lash matures and falls out, a new lash has already begun growing and quickly replaces the fallen lash. A lash artist will be able to see the baby hair visually whereas the average person won’t be able to notice this process.

The average person loses up to 20% of their natural lashes every two weeks and new hair growth is constant. Lash cycles occur every 2-3 months. As you start seeing your lash artist regularly, by your third or fourth fill you may noticeably see fewer lashes because you are nearing the end of your lash cycle.

How do I take care of these eyelash extensions once they're on?

It can take up to 8 hours for the eyelash extension adhesive to fully cure the bond between your natural lash and the extensions. Avoid swimming, spas, saunas and tanning on the day of your lash appointment. After the 8 hours, they are able to get wet. While sleeping, lashes can tangle or flip to the side. Brush through your lashes each morning with a clean mascara wand to reshape the extension and keep them fluffed into place. The overall upkeep is very minimal and very easy to manage.
